We Make the Switch Easy

FM Bank & Trust has made it easier than ever to change banks. We provide you with everything you need to get things moving. Just follow the simple 4-step process outlined below, and before you know it, you’re a FM Bank customer. It really is that simple!

Step 1: Open your new checking account

It’s easy to switch. Just bring us your initial deposit (minimum $100.00 for all accounts) as well as your driver’s license and social security card (other forms of identification may be used but are subject to approval.) With those items, we’ll be able to open your new account. Then with your new account number you can use the attached forms to easily convert your automatic payments and direct deposits.

Step 2: Review your old account

It will take just a minute to review your old account for automatic payments and direct deposits. You can use the attached Account Inventory Checklist to ensure you have identified and switched all of your automatic payments and direct deposits.

Step 3: Switch your automatic payments and direct deposits

If you have automatic payments or direct deposits, simply fill out the Automatic Payment or Direct Deposit form for each payment of deposit. Then simply attach a voided check from your new FM Bank & Trust Account to the completed authorization form and drop it in the mail.

Step 4: Close out your old account

With your new FM Bank & Trust account number, you will be ready to complete the attached Authorization to Close Account Form. Make sure that all checks from your old account have cleared and automatic payments and direct deposits have been switched to your new FM Bank & Trust account. You can then destroy all old checks, deposit slips, and cards (ATM/Debit) associated with the old account.
